We Got Court Approval from India!

Christmas Eve Mass

Woohoo! We received word from our agency yesterday that we had received court approval in India! They had told us that we could anticipate between one and four months for this to happen. It was just beyond the two-month mark for us. This is a great leap forward for our family toward our new little one! I am scheduled to share my testimony at Bible study on Wednesday about our adoption journey. I know God has perfect plans, but that didn't keep me from praying about how great it would be if we received court approval in time for that to be the fun ending for my sharing time. (Actually, I was supposed to share last Wednesday, but the snow day bumped me a week. Had I shared as originally scheduled, we wouldn't have had court approval yet!) God is in all the details! Praise the Lord!

There is still a bit of waiting, but there is a big hug in sight at this point. As we wait for the written court order to be shared with the orphanage, we are beginning to research the details of our upcoming travel and gather the necessary paperwork we need while in India. George and I will get our travel visas and visit the notary public again for fresh documents. Meanwhile, the orphanage in India will wait for Thor's Indian passport to be issued (he won't be an American citizen until things are finalized here in the US). We won't book our flights until we know he has his passport in hand.

If all goes well, little Thor will be here by April to celebrate Easter with us!

Great is our Lord and abundant in power; His understanding is beyond measure!
