Woohoo! Made it to Delhi!

Wanted to share our praises with you in that we have made it to India! I shared with a few of you my concern over the potential of our flight being cancelled. The thought occurred to me after we booked it to watch to see how often it was on time. We were set to leave at 3:24pm on Tuesday for our flight to Delhi which was set to leave Newark at 8:30pm.

On Monday when we checked in online, we noticed that the 3:24 flight for Mon had been cancelled. We called United to ask why, and they explained that Newark was too busy to accept the flight. We asked about earlier flights at 8am and 12pm on Tuesday. Both were full. We prayed about it and decided that we would show up at the airport by 10am with hopes of being stand-by on the 12pm. We arrived at 9:50 and found that the 8am and 12pm were both delayed. Another Newark flight had already been cancelled. As you can imagine, the United counter was crazy, but we waited for Manuel, the ticket agent, to see what options we had. By the grace of God, he was able to put us on the 8am flight which had been delayed until 2pm. We were ecstatic and rejoiced...yes, I had to cry a bit...

Then we made ourselves comfortable inside the airport and talked about our lunch plans since we had 4 hours until our flight. G decided to burn time with a shoe shine while I wrote in my journal. As we sat, G checked his text message to see that United sent an update at 10:59 saying our flight would now leave at 11am! What??? I ran to the screen. I returned to tell him that it still said, "Delayed." To be safe, I ran to the gate, where I found them boarding. I confirmed that it was our flight and panicked as I told them my hubby was coming this way. "Should I call him to tell him to run?" I asked. They said they were closing the gate, so he better be fast. I called and told him, worried that he would just think I was being dramatic (yes, sometimes I am dramatic). I wanted to stand in the doorway, so they wouldn't shut it, but they told me to board and assured me they would wait for him. I hugged the gate agent and told them about our adoption. Imagine my relief when I saw G, breathless, step onto the plane! Praise the Lord! Yes, I teared up again! G said it was the most expensive shoe shine ever since he just threw money and took off running.

We made it to Newark to learn that the flight we were supposed to have been on had been delayed and would not arrive until 10pm...after our flight to Delhi. Praise the Lord!!!! He is so good! We are settled in our hotel now and will be picked up at 6am by Rajeev to make our next flight to Pune, where our babe is! Woohoo for Gotcha Day!!

Rejoice in the Lord and be glad!!
